☆ Birdon (バードン) is both the source and Helper character to Kirby for the Wing Ability, in Kirby Super Star for SNES and Super Star Ultra on the DS. He definitely fits the bill of being like most Dream Landers-- he is short, round, compact, and super cute Also, he's pink. As his name suggests, Birdon is modeled after a bird (most likely a parrot or cockatoo- hence the 'mohawk') and specializes in flight and aerial offence. Birdon eye's are large and lovely, because birds have heightened eyesight. His beak looks more realistic than fellow fowl, King Dedede's mouth, yet his talons are simplified spheres, in the same manner as Rick the hamster's feet- detailed toes only being visible when painted by a human artist. Birdon has stubby, multi-colored wings for arms, which, despite the disproportional size of his body, he is able to use to move swiftly through the air, like a bumble bee. His one article of clothing is a leather pilot's cap and goggles, which he wears atop his head at all times. I wonder what would happen if he actually tried to cover those huge eyes with those little goggles?

☆☆ As stated above, Birdon is the master of Wing Ability. When Kirby gains this Ability, he wears a feathered Native American headdress, and flies by flapping newly-acquired wings, instead of puffing himself up and floating about as per usual. Wing's signature move is the Shuttle Loop, a strange move that lifts the opponent into the air, where the user can then encircle them, defeating anything in their way, proceeding to glide onward, afterwards. Meta Knight shows signs of being embedded with Wing powers, as he has mastered many of these moves in most of his playable appearances. A better display of Wing's overall power can be seen in the various "Condor" maneuvers, which send the user either speeding Head-first to tackle foes in front of them, altering that course by elevating or descending diagonally, or Diving Bombing downwards, in a quick and deadly shock wave that strikes foes like lightening (hence, the electric attributes). One must be careful not to use dive moves over pits, to prevent self-destructing. The most basic of Birdon's attacks, however, is the Feather Gun. Daimyo would rather use Ninja's kunai as they are more quickly thrown and offer broader range than Wing's feathers.

☆☆☆ Birdon is a pretty great all-around character, in my opinion. Though I don't care for Wing Ability much, Birdon's great design makes it all worth while. It's interesting to note that both Birdon and Dyna Blade share many characteristics, such as large eyes, rainbow colored wings, attractive hairstyles, as well as them both being bird species. But, perhaps that's just due to both premiering in KSS and possibly both having the same designer... In particular, Birdon's inspiration comes from the Major Mitchell's Cockatoo en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_Mi… Just look at the similarities~! For Wing Ability's reappearance in Air Ride, Birdon was replaced by the poorer-looking Flappy, and then again in RtDL with Owgulf. I hope they return to using this cute character for future titles <3 Speaking of future Kirby games, a new Kirby game for the 3DS was just announced today! Incredible! Let's all celebrate~! Long live the Kirby series ^^ lalala~~~
